Zero shits were given on this day
If you don’t stand for what you believe in then there is no point in standing for it. I don’t regret anything I say or do. I’ve lived places so isolated that the people will never leave the comforts of their own town. I’ve been placed where people were so uneducated that they didn’t know what college was. I pay a lot of money for my education and if I feel like I’m not getting treated fairly then...

ASSIGNMENT
Hello everyone.
I’ve been thinking about assigning a project for all of us to complete in a month’s time (debatable), but I’ve been struggling to come up with something interesting, so I’ll just write this and hope you’ll like it and let me know what you think/if you want to do it.

Thoughts from my recent hiatus
I’ve been very caught up with other things lately. Mostly my mind has been on my job search. It’s like that time as a senior in High School when college applications are out and you feel so distracted by very active waiting.
My interviews at the College Art association seemed to go well. They seemed like productive conversations. I liked all the folks I met and each school had things...
Upcoming research
Lately feeling a bit unprepared for “running” this online class. In some ways I’m not too worried, because we have all the time in the world to do something….yet I also really want to get some traction on this project. One of the Sessions I’ll be attending at the CAA conference in Chicago next week might have some ideas that might help.

Introduction
Hey all!
My name is Sara Jo. I’m a student at James Madison University currently studying Philosophy & Religion and Film Studies. I’ve actually never taken an art class (besides Art History) but I like to paint, sketch and just create things in general in my spare time. I love making t-shirts! I wish I knew how to screenprint, but for now I just make my own stencils via my trusty...
Why do you make Art?

socialsculpture: One of the themes in the link below ( http://www.ubu.com/historical/wrtma/about.htm ) is the question at the top of this post. After listening to the discussions I realized that I DON’T make art because of a need to communicate, or to make something beautiful. When it comes right down to it I make art because I want to see what happens when I try something new. I’m...

The Western Round Table on Modern Art (1949) →
Been looking into this lately. interesting historical resource. Frank Lloyd Wright is a great comic foil. He totally seems to despise the work and thought of other members like Marcel Duchamp, Mark Tobey, and Gregory Bateson

I posted the following question to Justin and would like to hear from everyone. This is just a rough idea, so everyone feel free to offer ideas and suggestions and everything. Justin’s suggestion is to make it Richmond based, but to have work from artists outside of Richmond as well. Here is the message and a random question to have this post available for suggestions:

Updates
I didn’t get around to being tutored by my students on how to use Skype this week. However I learned that some students in the VCU Sculpture program are taking an online class with George Ferrandi, and that class uses Skype. Are any of you in that? Dave L. thanks for the offer to show me Skype as well….perhaps this weekend I’ll have some time to put my attention to that.
